For tonal brilliancy- accurate set-up and careful repair of your instruments and bows
In my workshop I make all instruments of the viola da gamba family according to your personal specifications. In addition to new instruments I also carry out repairs, complex restorations and historically informed reconstructions.
After two years at Music College I was lucky enough to be able to unite these two elements and become a musical instrument maker. I went to London where I completed my training as a maker of early fretted instruments, specialising in violas da gamba.
While working for leading workshops in England and Germany I acquired and deepened my skills in repair and restoration of violins, violas, cellos and double basses. I regularly attend restoration courses organised by the British Violin Makers’ Association (BVMA) and exchange ideas with colleagues.
Through my own music-making and contact with numerous professional musicians and amateurs, I know what musicians expect from a good instrument and work with passion and commitment to fulfil these high demands.
Andrea Sala worked in my workshop from January 2023 to April 2024.
After training in Milan at the Civica Scuola dei Liuteria, Andrea Sala worked for ten years in various violin-making workshops in Cremona and Milan.
Although his longing for Italy has now drawn him back to his homeland, his instruments are still available in my workshop.
You can currently buy two of his violins through my shop.
Your enquiries, concerns or wishes are important to me. Please don’t hesitate to contact me – I look forward to hearing from you and will be happy to help!
